The Let It Out House is an art installation I began thinking about several years ago. Living in a world with social media, it can feel like there are eyes on you every second of every day. I wanted a place to express the extreme emotions we all feel at times without having to worry if I was offending anyone or to feel offended by their judgement. The Let It Out House will be a sound-proofed chamber with a menu of emotions that, when one is chosen, exhibits a custom light scheme. We can each use it to let our feelings out in private.
The Let It Out House has been constructed and is now a work in progress on campus at St. Micheal’s Catholic Academy in Austin, Texas.
